Santos needed a large-scale image library supporting marketing, communications, recruitment, media, and brand storytelling across Queensland operations. Wide shots of infrastructure and safety gear weren't going to cut it. The brief was to show the people behind the work, with a premium visual style capable of supporting a brand refresh.
Industrial image libraries often become repetitive. The challenge was to create something more human across remote and operationally complex environments. Production moved across multiple locations connected to Santos operations around Roma, Fairview, Arcadia Valley, and broader GLNG-linked regions. Then the weather arrived. Heavy rain blocked access roads. Flooding followed. Certain sites became completely inaccessible by conventional travel.
Two large lighting rigs travelled with the crew across Queensland, ensuring every image retained visual consistency regardless of weather, environment, or location. Staff were photographed within real operational environments so the work stayed authentic while the visual style remained elevated. When flooding cut off access to active sites, helicopters became the only way in. The campaign adapted to the environment rather than waiting for conditions to improve.
A large-scale image library that refreshed the Santos brand visually and strengthened the human side of the story across multiple communications channels. The kind of library that keeps paying off well beyond the initial production.
